The band includes Clinch Mountain Boy John Rigsby on fiddle, mandolin and vocals; Alex Leach on banjo and vocals; Randall Hibbitts on the upright bass and vocals; and Ralph Stanley II on the guitar and lead vocals. If you love a full-scale roadhouse rhythm and blues party, if you can't get enough of Texas boogies, swampy New Orleans ballads and groove-laden Gulf Coast blues, this show is for you. The New York Times says, “Marcia Ball plays two-fisted New Orleans barrelhouse piano and sings in a husky, knowing voice about all the trouble men and women can get into on the way to a good time."
Well that sounds like fun, right? A very important benefit show for the Sorg's future, tickets will go on sale very soon so save the date and don't be late!
Chicago guitar-slinger and singer, Ronnie Baker Brooks and Chicago harmonica master and vocalist Billy Branch, among today’s blues leaders, unite to give the songs of the Rolling Stones a remarkable touch. Brooks and Branch strip those rock songs down to their Chicago blues essence and bring the songs of Jagger-Richards back to their spiritual home. “CHICAGO PLAYS THE STONES” will take you on a powerful musical journey that will delight fans of the Stones, the blues and general music audiences alike.
But wait – there’s more! The show also include songs from the 1940s Mississippi Delta by a young Muddy Waters up through the groundbreaking electrification of the country blues in Chicago by Waters and other pioneering Windy City blues artists. It’s an evening that at its core, celebrates the blues’ lasting effect on rock and pop music.
The kinship between the Stones and Chicago—and between rock and blues—lives on, live on stage at the Sorg Opera House. Box office opens at 5:00 p.m., doors at 7:00 p.m., show at 8:00 p.m. Sorg’s “Chicago Plays the Stones” concert is sponsored, in part, by a generous grant from the Middletown Community Foundation.

Johnny Iguana pounds the piano alongside seductive singer Berit Ulseth, bassist/guitarist/singer Zach Verdoorn and drummer Michael Caskey.
